Etching 2 Photo etching using ferric chloride (advanced)
    27 July 2013  10am - 4pm
Duration: One full day  Cost: £30 members/£35 non-members
    Tutor - Denis Whiteside
This workshop is a further development for people who have experience of using traditional etching techniques. It introduces a method of transferring photographically sourced images onto zinc plates. Acrylic aquatint is used to place ‘tone’ in the image, then on to etching in ferric chloride. Prints are then made on high quality printing papers.
This technique differs from solar plate etching as the plate can be further worked into and the surface quality of the print has its own unique texture.
