Using photography as reference for paintings has led to an exploration of how, through digital and chemical manipulation I can create a scene that is both factual and imaginary.
A new series of photographs subtly merged with layers of textured surfaces, poetic patinas of decay and macro observations of the landscape, suggests the passage of time, the effects of weathering, the seasons, pollution, the remains of human habitation....a precarious ecological balance, of disintegration... the overlooked vista, abandoned, neglected....a secret life among the debris....from flood, drought, and natural destruction, the quiet traces of transience and impermanence provides a contemplative metaphorical language, left open to interpretation, a private history resonates in their scars.
