My name is Mark Brown
In 2008 I completed a BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Distinction level at Bolton University, previous to that I completed an NCFE level 1 certificate in creative craft at Bolton Collage.
Whilst also studying at University, myself and another student (Sharon Bury) created a 30 feet tall light feature which is the centre piece in the Bolton Market Hall.

I paint on very large canvas as this is the best way of expressing my ideas and thoughts, My work at the moment concentrates around the things that have crafted our past and the future/path that lays before us. I use various size and shape brushes but sometimes prefer to use only sponges and scourers as i can get into the canvas better and be more deliberate in the process.
I prefer not to pre sketch or use any preparatory work before I start a new canvas, instead I rely on my own instinct and feelings.
