Description
Within an environment and physical space (video using place, architectures, specific locations, extraordinary landscapes-such as Republic of Turkey’s one of the biggest and first textile factory)a human being is himself, and simultaneously against himself;is innocent for not being what he is,and on the other hand, stands guilty for what he is.On the basis of those various engagements of dialectics, qualitative coherence stays silent and delirium is formed from those tacit fragmentations of human beings. In that way, I have used marking phenomenons, virtual counting, counting with ropes, analog- manual counting calculation and the act of measurements which are made with connected ropes, cloths and rag clews for fields and rural areas measuring during selling or transferring as an economic ritual and my uncommon Middle Anatolian family tradition.I'm creating a big manual ball or digital virtual pixel counting and counter as a metaphoric entity which give reference to my own family and public history, I have made mappings with this big ball or colored flares in Central Anatolia and rural post-war areas. In addition filament fibers and tangles from rags are situated nearby the public places which have complicated definitions and stacked places which are very far in terms of sociological context but very close in terms of physical reality distance and ecologic grift trans-social settlements about existence. In this context, the memory of the places related to social and public works data also constitute important elements. Way map of the series, which is still important in my life and Turkey’s history&memory is based upon the abandoned, ruined and bankrupt in the 90s Sümer textile factory which was filled with yarn and clothes, bobbins due to the modernization moves and utopias of early republic of Turkey and late war, modernization, liberty and Republic period.
